上堂，舉：「僧問長沙：『如何轉得山河大地歸自己去？』沙云：『如何轉得自己歸山河大地去？』」師云：「轉山河大地歸自己則易，轉自己歸山河大地則難，有人道得不難不易句，却來徑山手裏請棒喫。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "A monk asked Changsha, 'How can one turn the mountains, rivers, and the great earth to return to oneself?' Changsha said, 'How can one turn oneself to return to the mountains, rivers, and the great earth?'" The Master said, "Turning the mountains, rivers, and the great earth to return to oneself is easy; turning oneself to return to the mountains, rivers, and the great earth is hard. If anyone can utter a phrase that is neither hard nor easy, let them come to Jingshan's hands and ask to take a blow!"
