這老漢無置錐之地而不貧，有無價之寶而不富。覩眾善而不欣，遇諸惡而不怖。一著當陽全提，要且秋毫不露。有時石火裏藏身，却向電影中回互。塞却臨濟三玄門，截斷巖頭末後句。

This old fellow has no place to stick an awl, yet is not poor; he possesses a priceless jewel, yet is not rich.
Viewing all goods, he does not rejoice; encountering all evils, he does not fear.
One move brought forth fully in broad daylight, yet not the finest hair is revealed.
Sometimes he conceals his body in flint sparks, yet interpenetrates within lightning flashes.
He blocks up Linji's three mysterious gates and cuts off Yantou's final phrase.
