19.12

世間塵勞之事，如鉤鎖連環相續不斷，得省處便省，為無始時來習得熟，若不力與之爭，日久月深，不知不覺入得頭深，臘月三十日，卒著手脚不辦。要得臨命終時不顛錯，便從如今作事處莫教顛錯。如今作事處顛錯，欲臨命終時不顛錯，無有是處。

Worldly affairs of dusty toil are like interlocking chains, continuing without end. Wherever you can spare effort, spare it. Because you have been habituated to them from beginningless time, if you do not vigorously contend against them, with the passage of days and months you will unknowingly sink in too deep, and on the thirtieth day of the twelfth month you will find your hands and feet entirely helpless. If you want not to be confused and misguided when facing the end of life, then from right now in your daily activities do not allow yourself to be confused and misguided. If you are confused and misguided in your daily activities right now, wanting not to be confused and misguided when facing the end of life is impossible.
