19.50

禪不在靜處，不在鬧處，不在思量分別處，不在日用應緣處。然雖如是，第一不得捨却靜處、鬧處，日用應緣處、思量分別處參。忽然眼開，都是自家屋裏事。

Chan is not in a quiet place, not in a noisy place, not in the place of thinking and discriminating, and not in the place of daily response to conditions. Even though it is like this, above all you must not abandon quiet places, noisy places, places of daily response to conditions, and places of thinking and discriminating to investigate it. Suddenly your eyes will open, and it will all be matters of your own home.
