上堂，拈拄杖云：「今朝臘月二十五，諸方盡唱雲門曲，徑山隨例和一聲。」乃卓一下云：「還聞麼？莫言楚石不當玉。」

Ascending the high seat, he picked up the staff and said, "Today is the twenty-fifth of the twelfth month. In all quarters they sing the tune of Yunmen; Jingshan follows custom and joins in with a sound." He then struck once and said, "Do you hear it? Do not say that the stone of Chu is not equivalent to jade."
