上堂云：「已著槽廠，將錯就錯，騎却聖僧，不妨快樂，龍象蹴蹋，非驢所作，堪笑諸方，妄生穿鑿，休穿鑿，祥麟只有一隻角。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "Already attached to the feeding trough, / making the best of a mistake, / riding upon the holy monk, / one is happily at ease. / The trampling of nāga-elephants / is not what donkeys can do. / How laughable that all quarters / falsely create strained interpretations! / Stop the strained interpretations! / The auspicious qilin has only a single horn."
