6.39

「死生為一，非想非說，證徹了悟，
一息千劫。嗟師何為，拳拳忠孝，
欲迪群迷，俾趨正教。嘻笑怒罵，
佛事熾然，情生智隔，疑謗興焉。
天目巍巍，終古莫移，師兮道德，
此山與齊。」

"Birth and death are one,
Not conceived, not spoken;
Penetratingly realized and fully awakened,
A single breath is a thousand kalpas.
Alas, what was the Master's concern?
Earnest loyalty and filial piety,
Wishing to guide the deluded throng
And bring them toward the correct teaching.
Laughing, mocking, raging, and scolding—
The work of the Buddha blazed brightly.
When emotion arises, wisdom is obstructed,
And doubt and slander burst forth.
Tianmu stands towering,
Unyielding through all antiquity;
O Master, your virtue and the Way
Stand equal with this mountain."
