示眾，舉：「僧問雲門：『如何是超佛越祖之談？』門云：『餬餅。』」師云：「雲門直是好一枚餬餅，要且無超佛越祖底道理。」

Instructing the assembly, he brought up the following: "A monk asked Yunmen, 'What is the talk that transcends buddhas and patriarchs?' Yunmen said, 'A sesame cake.'"
The Master said, "Yunmen truly had a fine sesame cake, yet there is completely no principle of transcending buddhas and patriarchs."
