7.37

示眾：「夜來兔子趕大蟲，天明走入無何有，月下珊瑚長數枝，萬象森羅齊稽首。」驀拈拄杖云：「拄杖子，不唧𠺕，渠儂却善分妍醜，李公爛醉絕倒時，元是張公喫村酒。報諸人，急回首，切忌癡狂外邊走。」

Instructing the assembly: "Last night a hare chased a tiger; at dawn it ran into nowhere. Under the moon several branches of coral grow; the myriad forms and phenomena bow their heads together." Suddenly taking up his staff, he said, "This staff is quite unpromising, yet it is skilled at discerning the fair from the foul. When Lord Li is dead drunk and doubled over, it was originally Lord Zhang who drank the village wine. I announce to you all: quickly turn your heads; by all means avoid running madly after outside things."
