The various frustrating matters amidst the defilements of daily life are the disease of sentient beings; a single thought turning back the light to reflect inward is the Buddha's medicine. If you can directly generate no discrimination regarding the Buddha and sentient beings, then the disease is cured and the medicine removed. Only then will you accord with Layman Pang's words: 'My daily affairs are no different, / only that I naturally harmonize with them. / In everything there is no taking or leaving; / everywhere there is no conflict or discord.'
