A buddha is a fellow who has finished his business within the realm of sentient beings; a sentient being is a fellow who has not finished his business within the realm of buddhas. If you wish to attain oneness, just let go of both buddha and sentient beings at once, and there will be neither finished nor unfinished. Therefore an ancient worthy said: 'Simply penetrate non-action upon phenomena; / seeing forms and hearing sounds, there is no need to be deaf.'
