Requested by Layman Pingshan, Academician Liu, to instruct the assembly: "A great hero of great capacity and great caliber settles the great matter without exceeding a single thought. The buddhas of the three periods stand downwind of him; such a person is fit to be an emissary of the Tathāgata. Since the buddhas of the three periods stand downwind of him, why does he instead become an emissary of the Tathāgata?"
