圓悟云：「達磨西來將何傳授？」師云：「不可總作野狐精見解。」又問：「據虎頭收虎尾，第一句下明宗旨，如何是第一句？」師云：「此是第二句。」

Yuanwu said: 'What did Bodhidharma bring to transmit when he came from the west?' The Master said: 'One cannot hold entirely wild-fox spirit views.' Yuanwu asked again: 'Grasping the tiger's head and holding the tiger's tail, illuminating the essential teaching under the first phrase—what is the first phrase?' The Master said: 'This is the second phrase.'
