府中歸，上堂：「一出一入，一動一靜，洒肆茶坊，紅塵鬧市，猪肉案頭，驀然築著磕著，如虎戴角凜凜風生，及乎歸來相見，依舊眉毛烏崒嵂地。且道是佛法耶？世法耶？記得修山主云：『具足凡夫法，凡夫不知；具足聖人法，聖人不會。』」卓拄杖云：「一不知，二不會，東西南北轉霶霈。」

Returning from the prefectural government, he ascended the hall: "Coming out and going in, moving and being still, wine shops and tea houses, the bustling red dust, on the butcher's chopping block, suddenly bumping against it and knocking into it, like a tiger wearing horns, chilling winds arise; and when returning here to meet one another, as before the eyebrows are dark and towering. And tell me, is it the Buddha Dharma, or worldly dharma? I recall Mountain Master Xiu saying: 'Fully endowed with the ordinary person's dharmas, the ordinary person does not know; fully endowed with the sage's dharmas, the sage does not understand.'" Striking his staff, he said: "First, not knowing; second, not understanding; east, west, south, and north, turning into torrential rain."
