上堂：「諸佛說不到處，人人開口道著；諸佛行不到處，人人舉足蹈著。既道著又蹈著，因什麼從朝至暮不自覺知？」良久云：「只為分明極，翻令所得遲。」

He ascended the hall and said: "Where the buddhas cannot speak to, everyone opens their mouth and says it; where the buddhas cannot walk to, everyone raises their foot and steps on it. Since you have both said it and stepped on it, why from morning to evening are you not aware of it yourself?" After a long pause, he said: "Only because it is utterly distinct, / it conversely causes what is attained to be delayed."
