上堂：「修造未逾兩箇月，叢林便覺日荒涼，今朝重整舊洪範，鐵佛須教盡放光。記得古人有一日不作一日不食之語，時時提起咬嚼過，如醍醐灌頂。諸人若信得及，驀地咬透，便見禪道佛法當甚破甑箄？」下座。

Ascending the hall: "Construction has not exceeded two months, yet the monastery already feels increasingly desolate day by day. This morning we re-establish the old great model; the iron Buddha must be made to emit light completely. I recall the ancient's saying, 'A day without work is a day without food'—bringing it up from time to time and chewing on it thoroughly is like pouring ghee upon the crown of the head. If all of you can genuinely have faith in it and suddenly bite right through it, then you will see what broken steamer basket the Zen path and the Buddhadharma amount to!" He descended from the seat.
