上堂，舉：「僧問巖頭：『浩浩塵中如何辨主？』頭云：『銅砂羅裏滿盛油。』」師云：「巖頭拔貧做富，未是作家。今日忽有問靈隱：『浩浩塵中如同辨主？』只對他道：日輪正當午。」喝一喝。

Ascending the hall, [the Master] cited: "A monk asked Yantou, 'Amidst the vast and billowing dust, how does one distinguish the master?' Yantou said, 'A bronze basin filled brimming with oil.'"
The Master said, "Yantou plucked out poverty to make wealth, but he was not yet an adept. Today, if someone suddenly asked Lingyin, 'Amidst the vast and billowing dust, how does one distinguish the master?' I would only say to him: 'The sun's disc is right at high noon.'"
He gave a shout.
