上堂，舉：「僧問巖頭：『路逢猛虎時如何？』頭云：『拶。』」師云：「巖頭眼觀東南意在西北，好一拶，性命落在別人手裏。」

Ascending the hall, [the Master] cited: "A monk asked Yantou, 'What happens when one meets a fierce tiger on the road?' Yantou said, 'Squeeze.'"
The Master said, "Yantou's eyes looked to the southeast while his intention was in the northwest. What a squeeze—his life fell into someone else's hands!"
