Ascending the hall: "The Bhagavat held up a flower—a thief of words broke into the house. Kāśyapa smiled—before the sound arose, reflection was lost. Xuefeng rolled balls—both releasing and both holding back. Xuansha was not yet thorough—pulling grit from the eyes. Yunmen's observing and reflecting—deceptions passed down one after another. Jūzhi raised his finger—utterly without handle or clue. This gang of fellows—their country-rivaling wealth has all been confiscated and expropriated by Wuju! So stripped that above there is not a single tile and below not room to plant an awl, they now come between the slits of my eyebrows to harbor resentment and complain of injustice, crying out with every voice: 'Without a heart of compassion, one is not human; without a heart of shame and aversion, one is not human; without a heart of right and wrong, one is not human!' Wuju was scratched where it itched, and without realizing it, his hands danced and his feet stamped!" Suddenly taking up his staff, he threw it down and said: "Meeting rescue, all are set free!"
