復舉：「感首座問法昌：『昔日北禪烹露地白牛，今夜分歲，有何施設？』昌云：『臘雪連天白，春風逼戶寒。』感云：『大眾喫箇甚麼？』昌云：『莫嫌冷淡無滋味，一飽能消萬劫飢。』感云：『未審是甚麼人置辦？』昌云：『無慚愧漢，來處也不知。』」師云：「感首座當時若向一飽能消萬劫飢處，道箇謝和尚供養，管取法昌拔貧做富。」

He then cited: "Head Monk Gan asked Fachang, 'In the past, Beichan cooked the white ox on the open ground. Tonight on New Year's Eve, what provision will you make?' Chang said, 'The year-end snow reaches the sky in whiteness; the spring wind presses against the door with cold.' Gan said, 'What will the great assembly eat?' Chang said, 'Do not complain of it being bland and flavorless; a single fullness can extinguish the hunger of ten thousand kalpas.' Gan said, 'I wonder, who prepared it?' Chang said, 'Shameless fellow, you do not even know where it comes from!'" The Master said, "If Head Monk Gan had said, right at the point of 'a single fullness can extinguish the hunger of ten thousand kalpas,' 'Thank you, upādhyāya, for the offering,' it would certainly have made Fachang turn poverty into wealth."
