師入寺，上堂，祝　聖畢就座，僧問：「聲前一句，不墮常機，轉位就功，如何相見？」師云：「問訊不出手。」僧云：「且道天子萬年作麼生？」師云：「瑞草生嘉運，林花結早春。」僧云：「直得九州四海，雷動風馳。」師云：「出門惟恐不先到。」僧云：「如何是延福境？」師云：「天高蓋不盡。」僧云：「如何是境中人？」師云：「月到中峯猶未歸。」僧禮拜。

The master entered the monastery, ascended the hall, and having offered congratulations to the Emperor, took his seat. A monk asked, "The phrase before sound does not fall into ordinary functioning; turning the position to approach functionality, how do we meet?" The master said, "Greeting without extending the hands." The monk said, "And tell me, what about the Son of Heaven living for ten thousand years?" The master said, "Auspicious grass brings forth fortunate times; forest flowers form early spring." The monk said, "It directly causes the Nine Provinces and the Four Seas to stir like thunder and gallop like the wind." The master said, "Going out the door, one only fears not arriving first." The monk said, "What is the environment of Yanfu?" The master said, "The sky is high and cannot cover it entirely." The monk said, "What is the person within the environment?" The master said, "The moon reaches the central peak, yet has not returned." The monk bowed.
