佛涅槃上堂：「今日則有，明日則無，釋迦老子一生賣峭，臨死自納敗闕，致令後代兒孫，箇箇以鰕為目。萬松丈人，屋上之烏，與之救看。」拈起主丈，吹一吹。

Ascending the hall for the Buddha's Parinirvāṇa: "Present today, gone tomorrow—the old fellow Śākya sold cleverness his whole life, but at the brink of death he admitted his own failure, causing the descendants of later generations all to take shrimp for eyes. As for the crow upon the roof of Master Wansong, I will save it for you to see." He picked up the staff and blew on it once.
