上堂：「天晴蓋却屋，乘時刈却禾，輸納皇租了，鼓腹唱謳歌。」師云：「洞山可謂高枕無憂，惜乎坐在者裏。興聖今日亦下手蓋屋，只是未納官賦，還與古人有相見分麼？」卓主丈：「惜乎坐在者裏。」

Ascending the hall: 'When the sky clears, thatch the roof; seize the season and harvest the grain; having paid the imperial tax, belly drummed, sing songs.' The Master said: 'Dongshan can be said to have slept high without care; pity that he sat right here. Today Xingsheng also sets his hand to thatch the roof, but simply has not yet paid the official tax. Is there still any ground of meeting with the ancients?' Striking the staff: 'Pity that he sat right here.'
