復舉：「五祖演和尚示眾：『但只喫菓子，誰管樹曲彔。』」師云：「者無厭消老翁，得與麼不知來處。報恩菓子貴賤、價數高低，也要諸人一一知得。」

He also cited: "Upādhyāya Wuzu Yan instructed the assembly: 'Just eat the fruit; who cares if the tree is crooked and bent?'" The Master said: "This insatiable old fellow managed to be so ignorant of where it comes from! The dearness and cheapness of Bao'en's fruit, the highness and lowness of its price—I want all of you to know each and every one."
