中秋上堂，以主丈打一圓相云：「裏面有一株樹，名之曰娑婆樹，下有一兔，長時搗藥，尋常見得不甚真，惟有今宵，極是分曉，諸人還見麼？」卓主丈：「見之則不妄擡眸，不然則明不如暗。」

On Mid-Autumn, he ascended the hall and drew a circle with his staff, saying: "Inside there is a tree, named the Saha Tree. Beneath it is a rabbit, constantly pounding medicine. Ordinarily it is seen none too clearly, but only tonight is it exceedingly distinct. Do you all still see it?" He struck with his staff: "If you see it, you do not raise your eyes in vain; otherwise, brightness is not as good as darkness."
