次日上堂：「諸方以期取効，時刻不忘，我者裏山邊水邊，從便走作。何故？」擊拂子：「棄細錄大，以待知己。」

The next day, ascending the hall: "Everywhere they set a term to achieve results, never forgetting it for an instant. In my place, by the mountain and by the water, wander and act as you please. Why?" Striking his whisk, he said, "Discarding the trivial to record the great, in wait for one who understands."
