上堂：「一大藏教，不出箇鴉鳴鵲噪；九經諸史，不出箇之乎者也。會得，雲歸華嶽，水到瀟湘；不然，有伴即來，切須記取。」

Ascending the hall: "The entire great canon of teachings does not go beyond the cawing of crows and the chattering of magpies; the nine classics and all the histories do not go beyond particles like zhi, hu, zhe, and ye. If you understand, clouds return to Mount Hua, and waters reach the Xiao and Xiang; if not, when you have companions then come, and be sure to remember this firmly!"
