次日上堂：「箇箇頂天履地，為甚麼蹈著二千年前底影子，便做一動子不得？莫有不蹈者影子底麼？」卓主丈：「有則有，只是今日不來。」

The next day, he ascended the hall: "Each and every one of you crowns heaven and treads earth; why is it that as soon as you step on the shadow from two thousand years ago, you cannot make a single move? Is there anyone who does not step on this shadow?" Striking his staff, he said, "If there are, there are; it is just that they have not come today."
