開爐謝首座上堂，僧問：「趙州道：『我喚作火，爾不得喚作火。』此意如何？」師云：「撓鉤塔索。」僧云：「今日得見趙州。」師云：「爾會他東壁拄葫蘆麼？」僧云：「也是家常茶飯。」師云：「互鄉童子。」

Ascending the hall to open the hearth and thank the head seat, a monk asked: "Zhaozhou said: 'I call it fire, but you must not call it fire.' What is the meaning of this?" The master said: "Grappling hooks and hawser cords." The monk said: "Today I have met Zhaozhou." The master said: "Do you understand his 'gourd propping up the eastern wall'?" The monk said: "It is also common home-style tea and rice." The master said: "The lad of Huxiang."
