2.93

上堂，舉：「風穴因僧問：『語默涉離微，如何通不犯？』穴云：『長憶江南三月裏，鷓鴣啼處百花香。』」師云：「風穴破關受敵，不知蹉過者僧。二林有僧出問，拈主丈便打。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Fengxue was asked by a monk: 'Speech and silence involve transcendence and subtlety; how can one penetrate without violation?' Fengxue said: 'I long remember Jiangnan in the third month, where the francolins cry and hundreds of flowers are fragrant.'" The master said: "Fengxue broke through the pass and met the enemy, not knowing he missed this monk. If a monk were to step forward and ask Erlin, I would take up the staff and strike at once."
