"Next, holding up incense, he said: "This incense I burn in the censer, reverently offering it to the Empress Dowager to support her sacred longevity. May she be a motherly model to the realm, nurture living beings as her children, support the altars of soil and grain, and assist the transformation of the sacred brilliance. This incense I burn in the censer, reverently for the present Empress and both palaces' imperial relations. May they have the ten-thousand-year longevity of the pine and the thousand-year age of the crane, supporting the enlightened ruler with the Way and assisting the imperial enterprise with merit. This incense I burn in the censer, offered for the Grand Preceptor and Grand Chancellor, the Bureau Director, Duke of the Realm, the Grand Councilors, the Grand Councilors and Bureau Councilors, and the civil and military ministers of the entire court, that their emoluments and lifespans may be equally increased. I prostrately wish that their virtue pacifies the four seas and their awe commands the three frontiers. This incense I burn in the censer, offered for the Prefect, Pacification Commissioner, and Supervisor, Grand Overseer, Vice Minister, the Fiscal Commissioner, Auxiliary Academician, and Supervisor, Vice Minister, and the officials of the commanderies and counties, that their emoluments and lifespans may be equally supported. I prostrately wish that they serve as arms and legs to the pure dynasty and as bellows to the common folk. This incense is offered to the former abbot of Daode Mountain Husheng Wansui Chan Monastery in Anji Prefecture, my late teacher Venerable Yun'an, so as to repay his Dharma milk."
