謝新薦嚴寶葉長老，上堂：「崐山片玉，挂林一枝，不足為貴，水邊林底，三四十年，說東話西，此之為貴也，更有松源三轉語，此行茂苑為流通。」

Ascending the hall to thank Senior Monk Baoye of the newly recommended Yan, he said: "A piece of jade from Mount Kun, a branch from the cassia forest—these are not worthy of being esteemed. By the waters and under the trees, for thirty or forty years, speaking of this and talking of that—this is what is worthy of being esteemed. Furthermore, there are Songyuan's three turning words; this journey through the flourishing gardens is to circulate them."
