雪竇和尚至，上堂：「金輪峯頂，錦鏡亭邊，有一句子，殃害天下衲僧，未有一人點校得出。育王久日樺來唇豈容緘默。且道，是那一句？」卓主丈：「見說前村風更惡，杏花無處避春寒。」

The upādhyāya of Xuedou arrived. Ascending the hall, [the Master said]: "At the peak of Jinlun, beside Jinjing Pavilion, there is a single phrase that has brought harm to patch-robed monks throughout the world, yet not a single person has been able to check and correct it. For Yuwang's lips to remain silent so long—how could that be permitted? Tell me, what phrase is it?" He struck with his staff: "I hear it said the wind in the village ahead is even fiercer; / The apricot blossoms have nowhere to escape the spring cold."
