舉：「孚上座初參雪峯，跨門纔見雪峯，便參主事，次日却來禮拜云：『昨日觸忤和尚。』峯云：『知是般事便休。』」

He cited: "When Elder Fu first visited Xuefeng, as soon as he stepped over the threshold and saw Xuefeng, he paid respects to the administrative monks. The next day he came back to bow and said: 'Yesterday I offended the upādhyāya.' Xuefeng said: 'Knowing it was such a matter, then let it rest.'"
