6.30

舉：「黃檗示眾：『汝等諸人，盡是噇酒糟漢，與麼行脚，何處有今日？還知大唐國裏，無禪師麼？』時有僧出云：『只如諸方𭅕徒領眾，又作麼生？』云：『不道無禪，只是無師。』」

[He] brought up: "Huangbo instructed the assembly: 'All of you are wine-dreg-guzzling fellows! Traveling on pilgrimage like this, where could there ever be today? Do you know that in the Great Tang Empire there are no Chan masters?' At that time, a monk came forward and said, 'What about those in various places who guide disciples and lead assemblies?' [Huangbo] said, 'I do not say there is no Chan, only that there are no masters.'"
