Ascending the hall: "The single character 'Buddha'—I do not like to hear it. A worldly person buys three pints of wine; better to pour molten copper down the mouth than to accept food from faithful people. In this ground there are no two taels of gold. If you understand, both do not form a pair; if not: 'The flowers must bloom through the night; / Do not wait for the morning breeze to blow.'"
