9.44

上堂：「丁一卓二，未解度關，坐一走七，似近岑樓。會得炎天火聚，如入清涼寶所；不會則清涼寶所，如坐火聚刀山。要須如顏子坐忘，始有做工夫分。」

Ascending the hall: "Setting down one and striking two, they do not know how to pass the barrier; sitting on one and running through seven, they seem close to the high tower. If you understand it, a mass of fire in the sweltering heat is like entering a cool treasure realm; if you do not understand, then a cool treasure realm is like sitting on a mass of fire and a mountain of swords. You must be like Yan Hui sitting in forgetfulness; only then will you have a share in doing the work."
