9.53

達磨大師忌日拈香：「觀東震旦有大乘根器，逾海越漠而來，遠赴梁朝丹闕，一言喫合，如春卷衣北面，折葦問津，信知桂讖不誣人，追思嚴諱，炊黍鱠芹，流水希聲絃欲斷，不知將底續芳塵。」

Offering incense on the memorial day of Great Master Bodhidharma: "Observing that in the Eastern Cīnasthāna there were vessels of the Great Vehicle, he crossed the sea and traversed the deserts to come, arriving from afar at the crimson palace of the Liang dynasty. A single phrase clashed, so as spring returned he tucked up his robes and turned north, snapping a reed to seek a crossing. Truly we know that the cassia prophecy did not deceive people. Recalling with reverence his sacred name, we boil millet and mince watercress. The flowing stream has a rare sound, its strings about to break; I know not what can be used to continue the fragrant dust."
