9.54

上堂，舉：「風穴示眾云：『若立一塵，家國興盛，野老顰蹙；不立一塵，家國喪亡，野老安貼。』」師拈云：「風穴只要箇相似底，殊不知，天傾東南，地陷西北。會得，日與義皇上人，游戲大槐安國，其間得失榮辱，自能知之。」卓主丈云：「參。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Fengxue instructed the assembly, saying: 'If a single speck of dust is established, the house and state flourish, while the old rustic knits his brows. If not a single speck of dust is established, the house and state perish, while the old rustic is at peace.'" The master brought this up and said: "Fengxue only wanted something resembling it, not realizing that heaven tilts toward the southeast and the earth sinks in the northwest. If you understand, you will daily frolic with the sovereign of primordial antiquity in the Great Locust-Peace Kingdom; within it, gain and loss, glory and disgrace, will be known naturally." Striking the staff, he said: "Investigate!"
