因雪上堂云。好諸禪德。同雲顯瑞。大地呈輝。祇箇清白家風。得似枯寒時節。十分瑩徹。誰知踏雪人迷。一色齊平。切忌守株自困。到這裡如何履踐。得超脫去。良久云。還會麼。功盡亡依者。轉身覺路玄參。

Ascending the hall on the occasion of snow, he said: "Noble Chan worthies! The unified clouds reveal an auspicious sign; the great earth presents its brilliance. Just this pure and white family tradition can resemble the withered and cold season. Wholly translucent and clear—who knows that the person treading the snow is lost? All of one colour, level and even—take care not to guard the tree stump and trap yourself! Arriving here, how will you tread and attain transcendence?" After a good while, he said: "Do you understand? When effort is exhausted and support forgotten, turning the body on the path of awakening, deeply investigate!"
