上堂云。好諸禪德。廓爾而靈。本光自照。寂然而應。大用現前。木馬嘶風。不運今時之步。泥牛出海。耕開空劫之春。諸人還相委悉麼。良久云。玉人招手處。復妙在迴途。

Ascending the hall, he said: "Good Chan worthies! Vast and spiritual, the original light shines of itself. Silent and responsive, the great functioning manifests before you. The wooden horse neighs in the wind, not moving the steps of the present time. The mud ox emerges from the sea, plowing open the spring of the kalpa of emptiness. Do you all fully comprehend?" After a long pause, he said: "Where the jade figure beckons with the hand, the wondrous returns on the path back."
