上堂云。大眾芝麻壓得油。粳米炊得飯。還我叢林飽參漢。衲僧履道貴平懷。何必臨機爭轉換。活計自然家風成現。順水便風。歸舟到岸。寒山拾得笑呵呵。此心分付知音辨。

Ascending the hall, he said: "Great assembly: Pressing sesame produces oil; steaming non-glutinous rice makes food. Give me back the thoroughly practiced fellow of the monastic grove! For a patch-robed monk walking the Way, an equanimous mind is prized; why must one scramble to make shifts when confronting circumstances? The livelihood is natural, the family style fully manifest. Following the water with a favorable wind, the returning boat reaches the shore. Hanshan and Shide laugh heartily; this mind is entrusted to an intimate friend to discern."
