上元示眾云。半夜誰傳無盡燈。黃梅席上許盧能。虛明自照非心力。分付叢林了事僧。有佛世界。以光明為佛事。普照今日也恁麼去也。還會麼。燈連鳳翅當堂照。月印娥眉䫌面看。

Instructing the assembly on the Lantern Festival, he said: "At midnight, who transmitted the inexhaustible lamp? At Huangmei's seat, it was granted to Lu Neng. Empty brightness shines of itself, not by mental effort; it is entrusted to the monk in the monastic grove who has settled the affair. There are Buddha realms where light is made the Buddha's work; today Puzhao also acts like this. Do you understand? / The lamps connect like phoenix wings, illuminating the front of the hall; / The moon stamps delicate brows—turn your face and look."
