上堂云。黃閣簾垂。難傳家信。紫羅帳合。暗攃真珠。正恁麼時。視聽有所不到。言詮有所不及。如何通得箇消息去。良久云。夢回夜色依俙曉。笑指家風爛熳春。

Ascending the hall, he said: "The yellow pavilion's blinds hang down; family letters are hard to convey. The purple silk curtain closes; secretly scattering genuine pearls. Just at such a time, seeing and hearing do not reach it; words and explanations do not attain it. How can you communicate any news?" After a long pause he said: "Awakening from a dream, the night shades dimly turn to dawn; laughingly pointing to the family tradition in the brilliant spring."
