舉密師伯與洞山行次。見白兔子面前走過。密云。俊哉。山云作麼生。密云。如白衣拜相。山云。老老大大。作這箇語話。密云。儞又作麼生。山云。積代簪纓。暫時落薄。頌曰。

Senior Uncle Mi was walking with Dongshan when they saw a white hare run past in front of them. Mi said: "How nimble!" / Dongshan said: "How so?" / Mi said: "Like a commoner being appointed prime minister." / Dongshan said: "So old and venerable, yet you utter such words!" / Mi said: "What about you?" / Dongshan said: "A family of caps and hairpins for generations, fallen upon lean times for a while." / The verse says:
