4.18

舉。密師伯與洞山行次。見白兔子面前走過。密云。俊哉（爭奈荒草裏走）山云。作麼生（怪儞遲也）密云。如白衣拜相（自地昇空易）山云。老老大大作這箇語話（幾乎放過）密云。爾又作麼生（人無害虎心虎無傷人意）山云。積代簪纓。暫時落薄（從空放下難）。

Case: When Senior Uncle Mi was walking along with Dongshan, they saw a white rabbit run past in front of them. Mi said, 'Splendid!' (How can it help running in the wild weeds?) Dongshan said, 'In what way?' (Blaming you for being late.) Mi said, 'Like a commoner appointed as prime minister.' (Ascending into the sky from the ground is easy.) Dongshan said, 'An old man of your years making such talk!' (Almost letting it pass.) Mi said, 'What about you?' (A person has no mind to harm the tiger, and the tiger has no intent to hurt the person.) Dongshan said, 'An illustrious clan for generations, temporarily fallen into poverty.' (Letting go from empty space is hard.)
