舉魯祖問南泉。摩尼珠人不識。如來藏裡親收得。如何是藏。泉云。王老師與爾往來者是。祖云。不往來者。泉云。亦是藏。祖云。如何是珠泉召云師祖。祖應諾。泉云去。汝不會我語。頌曰。

He cited: Ruzu asked Nanquan, "The maṇi jewel no one recognizes; within the Tathāgatagarbha, it was personally received. What is the treasury?" Nanquan said, "That which comes and goes with Old Teacher Wang is it." Zu said, "What about that which does not come and go?" Nanquan said, "That is also the treasury." Zu said, "What is the jewel?" Nanquan called out, "Master Zu!" Zu responded, "Yes?" Nanquan said, "Go! You do not understand my words." The Master appended a verse:
