2.36

舉麻谷持錫到章敬。繞禪床三匝。振錫一下。卓然而立。敬云。是是。谷又到南泉。繞禪床三匝。振錫一下。卓然而立。泉云。不是不是。谷云。章敬道是。和尚為什麼道不是。泉云。章敬即是。是汝不是。此是風力所轉。終成敗壞。頌曰。

Pointer: Magu, holding his staff, arrived at Zhangjing. He circled the meditation seat three times, shook his staff once, and stood tall and erect. Zhangjing said, "Yes, yes." Magu then went to Nanquan, circled the meditation seat three times, shook his staff once, and stood tall and erect. Nanquan said, "No, no." Magu said, "Zhangjing said yes; why does the Venerable say no?" Nanquan said, "Zhangjing was yes, but it is you who are no. This is turned by the power of the wind; in the end it comes to ruin."
