挫來機總權柄。事有必行之威。國有不犯之令。
賓尚奉而主驕。君忌諫而臣佞。底意巖頭問德山。
一擡一搦看心行。

Breaking down incoming sharpness, taking hold of the power: / affairs have the majesty of imperative execution; / states have commands that brook no violation. / When the guest still pays court, the host grows proud; / when the ruler abhors admonition, ministers flatter. / With what intention did Yantou question Deshan? / In one raising up and one pinning down, observe the mental action.
