舉長慶云。總似今日。老胡有望。保福云。總似今日。老胡絕望。師云。富嫌千口少。窮恨一身多。

[The Master] cited: Changqing said: “If all were like today, the old barbarian would have hope.” Baofu said: “If all were like today, the old barbarian would be in despair.”
The Master said: “The rich begrudge that a thousand mouths are too few; the poor resent that a single body is too much.”
